How is it August already?! This week has been another busy one. It’s crazy that the second week of the summer holidays is over!

Just a short post for Living Arrows from me this week as I haven’t got round to writing this and it’s super late now!

Playball and picnics

This week the twiglets had their second Playball lesson which they loved. And it’s nice for me to be able to sit on a bench for 45 minutes by myself in peace haha! Afterwards we went to the playground and had a picnic tea.

I think we’re going to be having a lot of picnics over the holidays! Picnic teas are the way forward though – they make the witching hour so much more bearable! (I still call between around 3 and 5pm the witching hours. They were always a nightmare when the twigs were babies and now are invariably when the TV goes on to drown out the whinging!!)

A trip to the farm

August already

We had a lovely trip to Godstone Farm in the week. I’d prebooked tickets and although it was fairly busy, it was very easy to keep our distance from people. The twigs loved feeding the animals and the play area was absolutely huge!

Pizza and a visit to the Gruffalo!

August Gruffalo visit

Yesterday we ventured to a restaurant for the first time since before lockdown. Just the four of us – I wouldn’t feel comfortable meeting anyone from another household indoors yet really. We went to Pizza Express and it felt very safe. Hand sanitiser on arrival, very spread out, hardly anyone else in there actually!

Afterwards we headed to Alice Holt Forest near Farnham and did the Gruffalo Trail there. Although it seemed busy around the car park and entrance, it was fine once we got into the forest. The twiglets really enjoyed spotting all the characters and reading the signs.

Few things planned for this week – not all exciting though, car MOT anyone? ;P

Anyway hope you all have a great week!

Til next time,

Hannah xx

Living Arrows

  1. I always called those two hours of the day the witching hour when my kids were small too! We have eaten out a time or two but haven’t met up with anyone indoors yet either. I’m always amazed at how empty and clean everything feels and seems.

Yes it’s actually quite nice that places aren’t so busy!!

  2. Aww Godstone Park looks like a beautiful place, very vibrant and colourful for you! Plus, we’ve been on a Gruffalo Hunt before they’re fab aren’t they! xx
