So, another week of lockdown life. It was the second week of what would technically have been the Easter holidays for us. We pretty much did treat it as a holiday in the end and didn’t do much home learning at all. The twiglets coped better than expected with less structure, so I didn’t feel the need to do too much with them. Plus I couldn’t really be bothered to be quite honest!!
An emotional lockdown moment
I’ve chosen this photo for this week’s Living Arrows post, because I just feel it’s quite representative of lockdown life really. The twiglets haven’t seen my sister for ages – previously they’d have seen her once a week or so usually. She came to drop some Easter goodies on the doorstep (combined with an essential shopping trip – don’t worry!)
And it was quite emotional when they saw her. We had told the twigs they wouldn’t be able to hug her or go up to her or anything. They did understand but H still got a bit sad when the realisation properly hit. This photo was when they were waving at her. We then had a very quick chat at a distance through the front window and all was well.
Enjoying lockdown but missing family
On the whole, we are still mostly enjoying our time in lockdown at the moment. We’re trying our best to make the most of it anyway, and enjoy the slower pace of life. The weather has certainly helped! Missing family and friends is definitely the hardest part about it all though I think. And of course it can get quite intense at times, all being together 24/7.
How is lockdown life going for you? Hope everyone is coping ok without seeing loved ones and so on. Such strange times!

We haven’t seen anyone for what feels like weeks. The grandparents and my brother have been round once, having a chat out the front at a safe distance. It’s so emotional for the children! Your window is beautiful!! x
It’s hard isn’t it – there’s a lot about this time I’m enjoying but missing family is tough for everyone x
