If you have two or more children, they will most likely have spent more uninterrupted time with their siblings than ever before over the past few months in lockdown. I’ve found it really special to watch how the bond between the twiglets has grown and strengthened during this time.

Kahlil Gibran
But what’s been really noticeable this week is the fact that these two have started getting right on each other’s t*ts! 🙁
They were getting on so well…
Up until now, their relationship has been blossoming during lockdown and it’s been so lovely to see. Of course they bicker and fight sometimes, but generally they have played together so nicely.
I’ve also noticed with all this time together that their play has become so much more imaginative than it used to be. H has always struggled a bit with imaginative play as he tends to be very literal and concrete in his thinking. Previously C would just play imaginative games by herself or with me or Twiglet Daddy. But since being on lockdown and spending so much time together, H has really been engaging in role play games with C, which is just amazing.
Now they’re getting on each other’s nerves
This week the twigs have been arguing so much more though. They just seem to be really irritating the hell out of each other! And both have been being quite intolerant and losing their tempers really quickly.
I think maybe they’re really starting to miss interaction from other children now. When you think of the amount of different interactions they would have been having each day at school, to go from that to just being with each other all day every day, it’s no wonder really!
Lucky to have each other
We’re still not sure whether we’re sending the twiglets back to school or not. At their school, Reception aren’t starting back until 22nd June so we have a little more time to make a final decision. At the moment, we’re leaning towards not sending them, for various reasons, but we’ll see!
And if the twigs don’t go, they will have to put up with just each other for a while longer! They’re doing so well though considering, and I’m really proud of them. I hope they’ll look back on this time with fond memories. They really are so lucky to have each other!
I chose these photos for Living Arrows this week as I think they sum up the twigs’ relationship pretty well – loving and silly! Obviously without the bickering and fighting but we don’t generally photograph those moments!

How have your littles been getting on with their siblings in lockdown?
Thanks for reading!
Til next time,
Hannah xx

that last photo says it all- sibling love despite driving each other crazy! #MMBC
Haha yes they do have a lot of love for each other 🙂 x
It’s so interesting to see how relationships grow and change during these trying times. I’m glad H and C are being more and more imaginative in their play. Hopping ov er from MMBC.
Yes it really is! Thank you 🙂 Have a lovely week x
I noticed an increase in unsavoury behaviour from my girl last week, and lots of friends said the same, so maybe the weather was contributing? I Hope you have a great week anyway!
Yes maybe – think it’s just been a long time for everyone now hasn’t it? My girl is really missing interaction with other kids now I think. Hope you have a lovely week too! x
Lovely photos! I think it’s quite natural to get a little fed up of each other after a while. My big kids still bicker! #MMBC
Haha do they? Yes it’s very natural, and this has been the longest they’ve been cooped up together without seeing any other kids. They’re doing very well considering! Have a lovely week x
We have 4 girls at home and like you it’s been so lovely to see them getting along and bonding more. Seeing their friendship as they’re playing. But my god when they fall out don’t we know about it. It’s awful. Hope you and family are keeping well.
Ah wow how lovely 🙂 Haha gosh with four girls I imagine the arguments must be pretty epic! Hope you have a good week x
Ahh, lovely pictures. I think all siblings argue, it’s lovely they get on too and have each other.
Yes it’s very natural and normal, especially after having been cooped up together for so long with no other kids. They’re doing well really 🙂 Hope you have a lovely week! x
Mine has always wished for a sister closer to her age than the 20 year old that she hardly ever sees. During this time of isolation more than ever I wish I was able to give that to her #dreamteam
Aw it must be hard, my two are definitely lucky to have a friend the same age during this time 🙂 Having an older sister must be cool too in lots of ways though 🙂 x
Lovely photos of them both! Mine have been bickering a lot more too and as you say, I think it is inevitable as they are missing their friends. #LivingArrows
This made me laugh! Athena and Troy have days where they just really wind each other up. We can cope for a day but if it goes on for a few days I just want to run and hide! x
Oh gosh, your two always look so lovely and happy – can’t imagine them arguing haha! Talking like I know them lol ;P xx
It’s tricky! The kids managed to entertain themselves and each other half the time but also get on each other’s nerves so I end up being a referee. Thanks for linking up with #dreamteamlinky
Haha yes, I’ve been doing a lot of refereeing too! 🙂 xx
Why would they get on the whole time wen they can keep you o your toes by annoying the heck out of you and each other! Standard in our house too #livingarrows
Pahaha true! I wonder if yours row more or less given that there’s more of them! Not sure if it would dilute the arguments or cause more!! Interesting xx
Awww what a gorgeous photo of them both. You can feel their personalities leaping off the page. I feel terrible at the moment for mine as she’s an only child – so no one to bicker with at all. Ekk! The plus side is getting loads of one-on-one time, especially with school work. I’m sure she’s making huge leaps forwards because of this. Thank you for joining us for the #DreamTeamLinky xxx
Haha that’s quite funny, because right this minute I’m writing a post about the lack of one on one time mine have had!! Funny the different challenges we all have as parents! That’s great with the schoolwork – good job 😀 xx
There is an 11 year age gap between my two and so far there has been no arguments its been quite peaceful
Living Arrows
Oh wow that’s amazing! 🙂 I’m quite jealous haha!! xx
Mine are the same. Our age gap is really starting to show. Love the photos though they look like they have a very special relationship.
Aw they do yeah 🙂 When they’re not trying to kill each other haha!
