I didn’t expect our summer holiday to be busy at all this year! In fact, what with lockdown and everything being so uncertain, I assumed they wouldn’t be. But with restrictions easing, and me starting to feel a bit less anxious about getting out and about, it feels like we’ve actually been super busy!

Usually I’m not too keen on planning out the summer holiday too much. I like to be a bit spontaneous and go with the flow most of the time. I’m finding this year I’m having to be a bit more organised. With pre-booking required at National Trust properties and most places really, being spontaneous isn’t so much of an option!

We’ve also been catching up with various friends we haven’t seen since before lockdown. Not going crazy of course! I wrote before about how I’ve relaxed a bit in terms of social distancing for the kids so that they can play with friends etc. But I’m still being strict about distancing with adults, and not yet feeling comfortable to meet anyone indoors in a restaurant or pub yet.

So anyway over the past week we’ve had a few picnics with friends and visited some other National Trust properties – Nymans, Polesden Lacey and Hatchlands. The photos below are from Hatchlands 🙂

One exciting thing we did at the weekend was go on a boat trip with GoBoat Kingston. You can read my full review here but it was so much fun! The twiglets had the best time waving at everyone 🙂

Are you having a busy summer holiday or a quiet one? I hope everyone has a good week 🙂 Enjoy the hot weather! (Although I have to say it is feeling a little toooooo hot now innit!!)

Til next time,

  1. I thought I’d really enjoy having to pre-book everywhere as I like to be organised but I’m also quite forgetful so the weekend rolls around and I’ve forgot to book anywhere fun!

We haven’t met people inside yet and I’m quite happy not to for a while yet x
