“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth“
Kahlil Gibran
This week of lockdown has felt a bit tougher than the ones before it. And I think that has been due to one main reason: the change in weather.
Throughout lockdown so far, I’ve been dreading the weather changing. I’ve been so aware that the glorious sunshine has made staying at home a lot more bearable. Parenting in particular is so much easier when you can chuck the kids out in the garden any time they need to let off some steam! It was so lovely spending so much time outdoors for the first few weeks, even putting up the paddling pool some days!
This week has been much colder and wetter. I know it’s totally pathetic to whinge about the weather when some people are having a genuinely crappy time of lockdown for all sorts of reasons. But it has definitely felt a bit harder this week!
Of course we have still got out for a few walks – mostly in between rainy spells, although we did get soaked a couple of times. And the twigs, like most children, love splashing about in puddles so they don’t really mind too much.
I think the difference is more the effect sunshine has on my mood and motivation levels. Everything just looks brighter and nicer in the sunshine somehow, doesn’t it? On those bleak, grey days, I definitely find it much harder to muster up the motivation for a day of home schooling, or for doing jobs round the house etc.

So I chose this photo for my Living Arrows post this week as it was my effort to brighten up a miserable, rainy day. With rainbows obvs π And I guess that’s what we have to try to do… Find the rainbows and the happy little moments in every day π
How has your week been? Have you found the change in weather tough?
Thanks for reading! Til next time,
Hannah xx

We’re very lucky to have a garden and it makes lockdown so much more bearable, especially for the kids. But i did notice a huge difference when the weather changed and we were confined to the house. #MMBC
Yes definitely. The sun is shining this morning so fingers crossed! π x
What a fun, bright photo! With all the rain we’ve been having we really do need some colour to cheer things up. x
Thank you, we love colour. Rainbows make so happy haha! π
Lockdown is definitely easier when the sun is out and not just for the kids!
Yep definitely! It’s been nice and sunny today – hope it continues! π

Loving those umbrellas – how colourful! The change in the weather sure did change our mood and mindset. Lockdown in lovely weather ain’t so bad but it’s rough in the rain!
Yep exactly! Wasn’t sure if it was just me! x
I completely agree!! I found those days we had nice weather I didn’t mind our lockdown situation nearly as much as those days it was dreary and cold and pouring.
It really makes such a difference doesn’t it!
Those umbrella’s are amazing, they’d brighten up any grey day! x #livingarrows
Haha they are very bright π π
Everything is just better when the weather’s nice isn’t it? It’s so much easier especially under lockdown! x
Definitely! π
Ironically I’m reading this and the temperature in Yorkshire has dropped by 10 degrees. I could cry! Love their umbrellas x #livingarrows
Yep, it’s dropped loads here too waahh!
I hope youβve had a better week with the sun being out again. I do love the rainbow umbrellas though! #LivingArrows
Yes thank you, the weekend was glorious! Hope you enjoyed it too π Bit chilly again now though!
I am loving the rainbow umbrellas. I shared a rainbow umbrella picture this week for the same reasons. Thankfully the bank holiday weekend has been a lot kinder x
Thank you π Yes the weekend has been so lovely! x
