This week the twiglets broke up from school for the Easter holidays. It feels like they only just went back but there we are! I still can’t believe we’re in April already. Crazy! Anyway we had a lovely Easter, which I’m really grateful for.
In the morning, we did an Easter egg hunt for the twigs. We already had some pre-written clues which were sent to us as part of a gifted package from Freedom Mallows. While the twigs were distracted doing some colouring in the garden, we managed to sneakily hide all the eggs around the house. We hid coloured plastic eggs then gave them a Smarties Easter egg as a prize at the end.
It was really lucky that Easter happened just after the beginning of the easing of lockdown restrictions. We were able to have my mum and sister over in our back garden for the afternoon, which was so lovely. It’s amazing how much I’ve missed little things like that.
It’s hard still distancing from them after over a year, especially for the twigs. Very tempting to just say sod it and have hugs. Especially as my mum has had her first dose of the vaccine. But it’s not worth the risk, and we’ve stuck to the rules so strictly all this time. It would just be silly to break them now!
Anyway, we had lots of fun and were so lucky with the weather! It was really warm and sunny, and so fab to spend time with family.

Aww this all sounds lovely. I think using plastic eggs is probably a good plan, I always worry chocolate eggs will be hidden and forgotten, only to be found months later. Haha

Ahhh Happy Easter it’s been so lovely seeing family. Yes we had a bit of a struggle with the no hugs rule too, the boys had to keep being reminded. Hope you have a lovely rest of the Easter holidays
