The past week was really lovely as we got to spend a few days away together as a family. We decided against going anywhere too far as we couldn’t face a long car journey. So we headed for Suffolk, which is just a couple of hours away from us in Surrey.
Our little family holiday in Suffolk was so lovely. I think we had a good balance of relaxing and getting out and about. We visited some beautiful places, including Southwold (which was a bit of a disaster tbh!) Aldeburgh, Walberswick and Jimmy’s Farm.
I’d say the best part was spending time on the beach. We don’t live near the coast so we hadn’t visited a beach for ages. The twiglets loved being on the beaches so much. They happily spent ages just playing in the sand or pebbles. And their joy at paddling in the waves was so special to see!

Crabbing in Walberswick was a highlight, even though we were super unlucky and only caught one little crab at the very last minute!

We had a really fun day out at Jimmy’s Farm. There was so much to do! C was really nervous about feeding the animals to begin with but once she warmed up, she absolutely loved it!

This next week will be much quieter than the rest of the summer holidays have been. We don’t really have any specific plans at all, other than the dreaded school shoe shop at the end of the week eek! Then of course there will be all the rest of the back to school prep – labelling uniform etc.
I’ve said it before but I just can’t get over how fast the summer holidays have flown by! Especially now with the weather having changed, I feel like the summer is pretty much over now. Have you been able to get away for a few days over the break?
Thanks for reading! Til next time,
Hannah xx

Yay for crabbing, so glad you caught one. Looks like a lovely break away we really do not know Suffolk well, it is an area of the country that we would love to explore more.
