This week has been half term, and for us it’s been a very lazy half term! The twiglets had been back at school for a few weeks so were keen to have a break. And what with rubbish weather and lockdown, we have done very little this week!

Half term in lockdown

We don’t usually tend to plan out the holidays too much – especially not when it’s just a week’s half term. Saying that, we would normally have some ideas of places to go and things to do. But what with lockdown, we’ve been restricted to the same local walks we’ve been doing the past few months. I’m super grateful that we have a large park down the road from us! But it is getting a bit tedious going to the same place all the time, or just wandering round the block!

I’m really missing visiting all the National Trust properties around Surrey, like Cliveden House. All of them are at least half an hour’s drive from us so I don’t really feel comfortable going to them with the lockdown restrictions. I know a lot of people are just doing it anyway, but we’ve followed all the rules so far so I don’t see the point of stopping now.

Staying in

But the weather’s been pretty pants this week anyway – so much rain! We’ve had a few rainy scoots down to the local playground but that’s really about it!

The twiglets seem to have been pretty happy staying in. We’ve played some games and done some crafting and baking. And they’ve had a lot of screen time too!

I bought a teepee from Asda for £30 as our sofa is getting absolutely wrecked from the twigs making dens out of the cushions. They absolutely love it and have been enjoying getting all cosy inside it.

So this week’s Living Arrows photos are of the twigs inside their rainbow den – think it definitely needs some fairy lights! 🙂

I hope you’ve had a good half term – has it been as lazy as ours?!

Til next time,

  1. That is a gorgeous teepee and what a bargain at £30! I’m sick of my living room looking a mess with den’s made of quilt covers and dining room chairs!

Yes I thought it was pretty bargainous! Haha yes that’s what we were having every day!

  2. It sounds like you had a great half term. It’s rubbish the weather wasn’t great but it sounds like you made the most of staying inside. The teepee sounds fab! They look so happy in there x

Haha yes they’ve been spending a lot of time in there! Great for chilling out in 🙂

  3. What an amazing teepee! Also, your photos are gorgeous, I absolutely love the colors. We’ve been getting a lot of snow, which I’ll actually take over rain any day. I love the way it shines and reflects light. I think that’s what’s been putting me in such a good mood recently

Ah thank you. Ooh jealous of your snow – we had a little bit here the other week but the weather has warmed up loads now!

  4. I love the teepee den. Sometimes lazy weeks are the best, especially when the weather isn’t so good. We don’t tend to do much this half term anyway we always wait for Easter.

No very true, Easter hols are lovely especially as they’re 2 weeks 🙂

  5. We have really stuck to our town and only really the outskirts of it this lockdown but so many seem to still be driving miles for days out. Like you, I really miss the National Trust x

Yep same here. It is a bit annoying when others aren’t doing the same, but hey I’d rather know that we’re doing the right thing 🙂 xx

  6. We are lucky as we have a national trust property really close by but even that we’ve only been to twice. Once this week! I would love to go further afield and will be booking up once we are allowed. Love the den what an absolute bargain

Ahh lucky! Gosh yes bet it’s going to be a nightmare trying to get tickets anywhere!

  7. Fab teepee for £30! We’re fortunate that our local NT is a tad closer, we have been a couple of times and it always makes me happier!

Ah lucky! Yes I thought it was quite a bargain especially as it’s rainbowwwww! 🙂
