It’s been such a busy week! The twiglets have been back at school following the Easter holidays and back to all their kids’ activities and clubs which have started up again. It’s been lovely but pretty jam-packed! Well, compared to lockdown and going barely anywhere!

Ballet

C started ballet this week. It’s been on the cards for aaaages! She was meant to start last November but it didn’t happen for some reason and then there were lockdowns etc. So she’s been waiting patiently for months. But last Tuesday was finally the day. She was really anxious about it. She wasn’t going to know anyone, it was a new place she’d never been to, she wasn’t sure what to expect… It didn’t help that we couldn’t find the venue for ages (despite being super early!) so ended up being 20 minutes late!

She cried a bit going in as she was so scared but I was so proud of how she got stuck straight in. She did amazingly well and the teacher couldn’t believe she’d never danced before – so proud!

Swimming

Swimming actually started back the week before they went back to school. They started swimming lessons last year and they’ve been so disrupted over the past year. So neither of them can actually swim yet, but thankfully they still seem pretty confident in the water. I wondered if they might be nervous again after such a long break but they were fine 🙂

Unfortunately this week their second lesson back was cancelled, right at the last minute 🙁 We were queuing outside the pool to go in and they came out to say there’d been an ‘incident’ so they couldn’t do the lesson. (Pretty sure it was a poo incident in the previous lesson haha!) So that was a bit soul-destroying. Anyone who knows the struggle of getting kids changed and back out the door after they’ve got in from school will probably relate!

Anyway fingers crossed for next week!

Stagecoach

And H’s favourite on Saturday morning – Stagecoach. He’s been doing Stagecoach for a while now. We thought it would be good for the twigs to have their own activity they do independently of each other, as they do most things together. H absolutely loved being back – it’s so fab for his confidence and he loves singing and dancing so much.

It’s been lovely being back to doing kids’ activities and clubs again. Now just to get used to a new busy routine again!

Hope you’ve had a good week!

Til next time,

  1. Oh gosh, you have it ALL going on! We only have gym sessions here and that’s enough for me to keep on top of. I need to be gradually eased back into a busy life! x

  2. We only have Cubs and even that has been a struggle. Super impressed with getting back into all the activities and can totally relate to the swimming classes being cancelled. I struggle with mine no end!
