After an eventful couple of weeks with H’s broken leg, we were finally able to enjoy some of the glorious sunshine this weekend! We didn’t do anything hugely exciting. But it was lovely to just get out in the garden for some paddling pool fun with family 🙂

There’s been so much lately that H hasn’t really been able to join in with. And he’s been so good about it, bless him. So it was such fun being able to take him in the paddling pool! We’d bought him a Limbo cover for his leg. It’s basically a big plastic bag but it has a silicone seal at the top to prevent water getting in. We’d tried it with showers but I was a bit nervous lowering him into the paddling pool! His cast was still bone dry once I took the cover off though, phew!

The twigs had so much fun splashing about in the paddling pool. I even joined them for a bit and it was lovely! Even if they did splash the absolute bejesus out of me! It was really nice to spend some time with my mum and sister too. We had a lovely barbecue and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

The other half has been working hard making our garden look nice for the summer. (I don’t really get involved as I’m terrible at gardening!) We’re in the process of building a swing set but were sent an incorrect part and are awaiting a replacement. It also feels a bit mean to finish it while H is still in a cast. ‘Here, have a lovely climbing frame, oh but you can’t go on it!’ His X-ray is only two weeks away now though and hopefully his cast may be able to come off then, fingers crossed!

Anyway I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend in the sunshine too 🙂 Til next time,

Hannah xx

  1. Aww bless him! How lovely that he still managed to enjoy the paddling pool, it must be horrid having a cast on in this heat. Fingers crossed it’ll be off in 2 weeks time.

  2. When A broke her leg as a toddler, and T broke his arms three times in 12 months, the limbo covers were a lifesaver! Made everything so much easier. So glad they got to enjoy the sunshine! x

  3. Thats brilliant you can get something like that to be able to get in the pool, looks like he is having a great time. Two weeks is not long keeping everything crossed for you.

  4. How great that they were both able to go in the paddling pool! We got a cover so Gabe could still go swimming when he broke his foot – it was great!
