It’s been the second week of the Easter holidays, and I have to say it has been lovely to feel like we’ve had a touch of normality after lockdown. We’ve had the loveliest Easter holidays. I was genuinely expecting to find it a bit tough after having the twigs home for so long over lockdown. But it has honestly been so nice, and I think that has been because of how utterly fab it has felt to visit some different places!
Coming out of lockdown
Lockdown restrictions have continued to ease but we have been taking it pretty slowly really. We haven’t rushed out to a pub garden, or gone clothes shopping. (Definitely not queueing for Primark!) Personally I just don’t feel in any real rush so I think I will leave the shopping for a couple of weeks until things have calmed down a little. I am looking forward to going out for dinner, but again, baby steps seems to be working for us at the moment.
It’s amazing how much I appreciate just being able to travel a bit further afield, rather than just visiting our local park all the time. That and meeting friends and family outside is enough for us right now 🙂
Hampton Court and the Magic Garden
On Friday the other half took the day off work and we headed to Hampton Court, where we had the most amazing day! I was a little nervous beforehand about how I’d feel with it being very busy, which it was! But actually it felt ok. And obviously being outside meant it was possible to distance from others even though there were a lot of people.
The Magic Garden was so much fun, and I haven’t seen the twigs that happy for a while! They had the best time. After a picnic lunch, we did the Lindt Easter Bunny trail, which was great fun and a lovely way to explore the grounds.

How has your week been? Are you enjoying a bit more normality after lockdown, or taking it slowly? Or a bit of both like us 🙂
Til next time,
Hannah xx

We are also taking very steady steps – it is nice to have a little normality back though.
Hampton Court is a really great day out. I was a bit disappointed that the maze wasn’t bigger though!

We’ve taken the same approach and sticking to outdoors, open places. I’m in no rush to get to the shops or the pub. I’m happy to just have more outdoor options available, there’s only so many times you can visit the local park before the kids start to get bored. Even a trip to the neighbouring towns park feels like a holiday now- oh the things we used to take for granted!

Aww that looks like a fab place to visit! Love the slide photo! We are taking baby steps back to normality, finally!
Gorgeous snapshots! We have been taking things slowly too. Although, I have to admit we did the obligatory Primark shop. Luckily no queues, not that busy and the staff were super organised running the shop thank goodness xx
I can’t wait to take the kids back to Hampton Court, such a lovely day out! So pleased you had such a lovely Easter. I’m really enjoying getting out and about a little more now x
Oh this post makes me so happy to see a bit of normality again. We are taking very steady steps but looking forward to getting out and about more.
Looks like you all had a blast! X
I would love to visit Hampton Court! I’m with you on the shopping front, I think a shopping trip would tire me right out lol x
It looks like you had a lovely day out – it’s so nice to do things that feel almost ‘normal’ again isn’t it? We’re like you though, I haven’t been shopping, or to a pub or restaurant yet – the only thing we’ve been doing really is starting up some of the kids’ activities again.
I am with you, I am really not interested in shopping and we have only eaten out because we were in Devon otherwise we wouldn’t have bothered with that either. Although I would like to go to a pub garden. I have seen Hampton Court a lot on instagram recently it looks like a lot of fun especially the play area. Lovely photos of the the twigs
