It’s been a pretty normal week this week. Just school, teaching, housework, life admin… And the twiglets had their first ever Sports Day!
The twigs are in Year 1 but last year’s Sports Day didn’t happen due to lockdown. Of course, parents couldn’t go and watch, which I was a bit sad about. The double standards seem very unfair at the moment – ie that tens of thousands of people can pack into a football stadium and drink and cheer together. Yet parents can’t stand on a field and watch their kids Sports Days, even though it would be very easy to stay socially distanced 🙁 Our kids have missed out on so much. The twigs have been at school two years now and it makes me so sad to think of all the things they (and we!) have missed out on. Thankfully they don’t know any different though, so that’s good at least! And obviously H couldn’t join in with that much this year anyway!
He is still coping brilliantly with his broken leg. He has an X-ray next week and afterwards will hopefully have his cast taken off, all being well. I’m not sure how he will be with walking. I imagine he might be very nervous to put weight on it after 4 weeks!

C lost one of her top front teeth this week. She looks even more grown up now! Wonder if she will lose the other one soon. I always think kids look so funny when they lose both their top front teeth at once!

And this Saturday is the twigs’ 6th birthday! I can’t even believe they’re going to be 6 – just crazy! We ummed and aahed for a long time but have decided not to do a full party this year. It’s turned out to be a good thing we hadn’t booked anything really, as we’re not sure if H will be out of plaster or what he’ll be able to do. So we’re having a mini tea party/birthday lunch with two of their friends then spending the rest of the day with family. Just hope the weather is ok ish! And we’ve booked to go to the London Aquarium on Sunday which should be fun. That way if H still needs to be in a wheelchair he won’t miss out on anything 🙂
Hope you’ve had a good week! Til next time,
Hannah xx

We’ve just last minute decided to give the boys a birthday party but we’re only having a few friends each in the garden – I’m just hoping the weather holds out! I saw on your Stories that H has got to keep his cast on a bit longer – hope you’re all managing OK x
Happy birthday to your gorgeous twosome – I hope they had a lovely birthday! x
Happy Birthday Twiglets! I’m so cross about Sports Days. This is Teddy’s first one as the other two got cancelled. It’s such a shame we cant get to see it. Even more so when other things that bring in money for the economy are allowed to go ahead with spectators!! Hope H is getting on ok with his cast? xx
I will be missing Harry’s first too which I am gutted about. Hope they had a wonderful 6th birthday and that H’s cast is off soon x
