Last week the twiglets went back to school again. For some of the week anyway! Other than that, it’s just been much of the same. A lot of rain and not really doing a lot else. It really is getting harder and harder to find things to write about each week. I mean, we’re just not doing anything interesting whatsoever. This lockdown is really feeling pretty endless!
Back to school again
Anyway last week the twiglets went back to school. (In case you missed it I explained in last week’s post why they were going back). Well they went on Monday. Then on Tuesday there was a gas leak and the school was closed for two days! You couldn’t make it up, haha! So H and C were pretty unsettled for those two days after all the chopping and changing. I couldn’t really get C to do any home learning at all, but hey!
Trying to get some support
In terms of accessing any kind of support or assessment for C, we are having doors slammed in our face left, right and centre at the moment. It’s all incredibly frustrating and I really feel for all the families who have been in the system for years and are barely even any further along. The services are all so overstretched and under-resourced. Thankfully the school have been really supportive so far so I’m keeping everything crossed that they will be able to help. I think it’s going to be a very long process with a lot of battles to fight though!
Anyway hopefully next week will be more settled and we can get back into a bit of a routine. It has been good to have some headspace while they’ve been at school so I’m very grateful for that.
This week’s Living Arrows photos are of the twiglets playing with slime! I’m trying to give them more opportunities for sensory play. I think it’s really calming, particularly for C.
So any recommendations for sensory toys etc please do send them my way!

I remember my youngest son loving slime! They look like they are having fun. At this age, it doesn’t matter if he misses a day or two of learning. #MMBC
Oh no definitely not ð Haha got to love a bit of slime x
What a dramatic return to school! There’s a lady on Instagram @mayasmoonplay that shares some great sensory ideas.

Ooh I love her, already follow but will keep an eye out for her ideas, thanks!
We’ve been having very unpredictable school schedules with snow days, delays from cold weather, and whatnot. Thankfully my high schooler is quite adaptable!
Aww that’s good – can be tricky when the routine’s messed up! ð x
